Top 5 Selfie-Spots

A vibrant city filled with unique and historic sights, it’s no wonder Liverpool has more than a few fan favourite selfie-spots. Here’s a guide to the best places in the city to help you take a great shot and capture some memories at some of the most iconic Liverpool attractions. 

The Beatles Statue

The iconic statue of the fab four arrived at the waterfront in 2015, after being donated by the Cavern Club, where the band first found fame. Sitting on the Pier Head, the statue is the city’s most popular selfie spot - and is only a short walk from our hotel in Liverpool’s city centre!

Wheel of Liverpool

Another attraction on the Royal Albert Dock, the Wheel of Liverpool is a 60-meter-high ferris wheel which stands over Liverpool and the River Mersey. Pick the right day (or evening) and there are some glorious views to be had over the city and out toward the Irish Sea.

Mersey Ferry

If Gerry And the Pacemakers thought it was worth singing about, it’s probably worth a ride on the Mersey Ferry. At the very least you’ll get good views of the city, and snap some amazing selfies along the way. Choose from a standard hop-on-hop-off cruise or a combination ticket that includes entrance to other Liverpool attractions, including the family-friendly interactive Spaceport attraction and the U-Boat Story, where you get to mooch around a genuine German submarine. In 2018 one of the riverboats was even ‘dazzle painted’ by pop artist Sir Peter Blake to commemorate the centenary of the First World War Armistice.

Baltic Triangle Street Art

The Baltic Triangle is one of the most exciting, authentic and vibrant spots in the city - and a great place to experience some amazing street art. Take a walk down Jamaica Street and witness a whole host of vibrant pieces from some of the most established names in Liverpool street art - including, of course, Paul Curtis and his famous ‘Angel Wings’. Consisting of two spread wings, the piece allows visitors to transform themselves into a liver bird for a well-placed photo. After suddenly appearing back in 2017, the wings quickly became iconic, and are arguably responsible for kick-starting the street-art trend that is now sweeping over the area.

Liverpool Cathedral

Liverpool’s Hope Street is prvy to not just one, but two picturesque cathedrals. The first of which is the Liverpool Metropolitan, and the second being the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral (AKA Liverpool Cathedral). The Liverpool Cathedral is Britain's biggest Cathedral and the 5th largest in Europe. It’s also a world-class visitor attraction, with a full programme of events from Cream Classics music sets, to large gala dinners and conferences. Travel to the top of the tower on the 'Tower Experience' and enjoy unrivalled panoramic views from 500ft above sea level! Here, visitors can see the city and way beyond - it's also one of the best places to catch a Mersey sunset (and to capture the perfect photograph over the city).
