The Cavern Club
The legendary
Cavern Club has played host to all manner of illustrious figures from Liverpudlian musical history. This underground cellar started life in 1957 as a jazz and skiffle joint, before playing an instrumental role in the birth of the Beatles. Lennon and McCartney played here in the Quarrymen before forming the Fab Four and setting up for almost 300 gigs on its stage. It’s colourful wall covered in the names of the bands who graced its stage remains one of the most popular selfie spots.
