Cambridge is one of the most historic and beautiful cities in the UK. Today over seven centuries of history combine with a thriving city which offers so much to see and do. From the magnificent Fitzwilliam Museum to punting down the river Cam, to relaxing in centuries old pubs to touring the stunning colleges, or visiting some of the tiny theatres or simply treating yourself to shopping in the Grand Arcade, Cambridge will have you searching for an excuse to come back again!
Steeped in history it was founded in the first century BC by an Iron age tribe who built a bridge to cross the river Cam (hence the name Cam-bridge). Over the centuries it quickly grew as a significant road crossing point but it was not until the 13th Century when Cambridge became recognised as a great seat of scholarship by a writ of learning issued by Henry III in 1231.
Ever since Cambridge has become a meeting point for some of the worlds most important and influential minds such as: Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Ernest Rutherford (split the atom in 1903), Crick and Watson (discovered the structure of DNA in 1953), and great writers too: Milton, Marlowe, Tenyson and Wordsworth and more recently royalty with Prince Charles who studied at Trinity.
Over the centuries successive Kings and Queens have used Cambridge as an opportunity to showcase their wealth and power by employing some of the worlds best architects. This has resulted in some truly impressive spaces and buildings that together with our warm Cambridge welcome means that you will want to come back again and again and Quest Apartments would love to welcome you every time.
